Dr Isobelle Smith completed her MBBS at the University of Tasmania in 2014 and gained her FRACP in Endocrinology in 2023.
Her endocrine training was completed at The St Vincent’ Hospital Sydney and The Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.
She has a special interest in osteoporosis, women’s health (PCOS, amenorrhea, menopause transition) thyroid dysfunction and nodules (including antenatal thyroid disease) and athlete health.
She has also completed in sub-specialty training in bone and calcium disorders, obesity medicine and management of anorexia and other eating disorders.
Dr Smith is the Endocrine Society of Australia representative for the Centre for Research Excellence in Women’s Health in Reproductive Life (CRE-WHIRL) Clinical Advisory Committee.
She has presented at several national conferences and published review articles and original literature on osteoporosis management and barriers to exercise prescription.
Dr Smith is also very involved with amateur and elite sport and has contributed to guidelines and resources on female athlete health including management of recurrent stress fractures and functional hypothalamic amenorrhoea.
Dr Smith welcomes referrals in all areas of Endocrinology and practices at Southern Endocrine on a Thursday and alternate Fridays.
