About Southern Endocrine

Southern Endocrine medical practice provides a comprehensive service for all aspects of diabetes mellitus, endocrinology and osteoporosis, as well as related services such as diabetes education and insulin pump therapy.

Patients with type 1 diabetes are started and stabilised on an insulin pump device which delivers a continuous insulin infusion. With over 700 patients registered with our practice on insulin pumps, this makes us a national leader in insulin pump therapy. We also offer the latest technology of continuous glucose monitoring which has the potential to significantly improve diabetic control and importantly, quality of life.

The practice also provides internet adjustment of diabetic therapies to ensure good diabetic control and thereby reduce the risk of diabetic complications.

The practice was opened in 1996 by Dr Stephen Thornley and has steadily expanded to service the residents of Southern Sydney, the Illawarra and adjoining regions.
